Eating sustainably

– without sacrificing health, taste or convenience

We know that what we eat has an impact on the health of the planet as well as on our personal health. So why do we keep on addressing them separately?

Climate conscious food choices can improve your health twofold; not only are you eating nutritious foods, you are also making sure that the planet remains livable long term.

Our habits are so ingrained and personal that changing them can seem insurmountable, but in reality, the compounded effect of small changes

can make a big impact, and one small change can lead to multiple benefits.

You don't have to sacrifice health, taste or convenience in order to eat healthier for the planet.

Together with nutrition guru Umahro Cadogan we have created a 30 day program in which you will receive life hacks in 10 steps to guide you to a more sustainable diet. Umahro will be investigating topics ranging from how to get the proteins and fats you need from plant based sources, to taking a deeper look at whether local produce always is better. In addition, you will receive a worksheet to reflect upon your own personal progress.

Step 1

How much should you eat? What kinds are more sustainable? How is it with organic and biodynamic produce? What about greenhouses, locally grown, or imported produce?

What is high-quality protein? Should you be prepared to give up meat? Can you get the right source of protein while being environmentally friendly?

Is quitting refined sugar and sweeteners not only benefiting your body but also the environment? Where are the hidden synthetic sweeteners?

What fats can you safely eat without causing a burden on the environment and while helping your body? What fats are not healthy and cause damage to the environment?

Are nuts, seeds and legumes a burden on the environment? How much is a healthy daily amount? What nuts, seeds and legumes, if any, should you hold back on?

Step 6

What is the ideal amount of grains to eat? Which grains should you choose? What about gluten? Is it better to eat soaked grains?

Step 7

Yes, clean tap water, but what about vegetable juice, fruit juice, tea, coffee, and alcohol? Is dairy healthy and environmentally friendly?

Step 8

What is alternate day fasting, 8:16, and intermittent fasting and when are they relevant? Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?

Step 9

How does a balanced meal look? What is the ideal ratio between protein, fats, and carbohydrates? Should you avoid carbs? What is the T-plate model?

Step 10

Which vitamins and minerals are the basic supplements even when eating and living healthy? How do you get sustainably sourced vitamins and minerals?

All participants are agreeing to receive emails from both Puori and the associated ambassadors during and following the campaign.
